The Community Center Friends and the City of Port Orford send thanks to all the folks who turned out for Family Fun Day on September 14. The money raised at this event will go toward renovating the old Community Center and the American Legion Hall. Special thanks go to all the volunteers who made the event so enjoyable, like music man John Clute, jolly juggler Sierra Izumida, Karate Master Loren Kessler and his students, the Pickleball Club, the Frisbee Golf gang and the Rotary expert hamburger flippers. It is impossible to list the many businesses and individuals who donated wonderful goods and services for the raffle; everyone in town participated!
Thanks go also to the businesses and individuals who bought putt-putt hole sponsorships or “ads” on the score cards—all that happened before Covid, so we greatly appreciate their patience and trust that the event would eventually happen.
It was indeed a beautiful day for a vey nice event that brought in over $4,000. Our community doesn’t give up, we work and play together to make things happen. So, coming soon, a very handsome, safe, modern Port Orford Community Center Complex.
